Filmmaker Jan Nowina-Zarzycki has worked in film and television in Poland and Canada for more than 30 years. Through his company Novina Motion Pictures and his freelance work for others he has brought to life many award-winning stories for screens around the world. He lives and works in Saskatchewan, Canada.
A new documentary film about artist Joe Fafard
Joe Fafard is a sculptor from Saskatchewan who is one of Canada’s most successful artists, with work that can be found all over the globe. Jan Nowina-Zarzycki documented Fafard completing his last two works of art and followed him as he visited several of his installations across Canada, revealing details about the formative years of his life, his views on humankind and the inspiration behind many of his most famous sculptures.
The feature film had its world premiere at the Festival International du Film sur l’Art in Montréal in March 2022.
